Week 4

Welcome.

This week the focus was digital images, video and audio.
The class powerpoint is below.

This movie clip was made with movie maker software.
The movie was designed to capture the students dance creation for assessment.
Dance is part of The Arts curriculum.
This activity allowed the students to be creative problem solvers and use higher order thinking skills to complete the assessment task.

The stop gap animation was created by the year 6 students as part of their science unit assessment. Their task was to create an animation that demonstrated has much knowledge and understanding of the relationship between the Fitzroy River turtle and its environment.
This open ended task allowed the small group to develop their higher order thinking skills and be creative to solve the problem.

Week 3

Welcome to week 3.

This week we are going to learn how to add a few ICT tools to your blog so they can be used to make the site more interesting for the variety of learner needs in your class. These ICT tools can also be used with wikis and weebly sites.

Week 3 tutorial from holmesgj

Here are some samples of ICT tools that can be used in a blog, wiki or weebly website to support student learning and deliver curriculum. In your post I suggest you use a PMI or SWOT to unpack your thinking around how they could be used in a blog, wiki or weebly.

Week 1 Reflections

The Tuesday class (2-4pm) was a great start although we had some students away. The 4-6 class was far too crowded and I thought the class didn't engage was well as they could.
As stated before these classes are going to move fairly fast and each week new work
will be introduced that is essential for assessment. There is so much to cover.

I have used slideshare (http://www.slideshare.net) software to add my powerpoint from this week.

In the tut I used Padlet software to capture the thoughts of everyone around their
course expectations. My justification for this was about motivation and multiple intelligences. Some students in my class will learn best by being active participants or visual learners.
I was pleased that I could make the software work.
It was interesting that nobody said anything about making their learning fun and engaging.
A sample of the wall posts is provided below:

Assessment hint: Put plenty of effort into your blog posts.
Follow the hints presented in our tut.
Take the time to check out the posts of others.
